BobMob.org, started from our passion for unity and support of our people. We launched our website as a resource market black and brown authentic owner-operated small businesses.

BobMob provides marketing and consultation services to small and medium-sized companies. Our services include web management and marketing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce administrative costs. 

The spotlight audience for BobMob is Black and Minority business owners, presidents, or CEOs, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB), that can be socially disadvantaged due in part to being subject to potential discriminatory acts. The classification of the represented minority racial and ethnic groups are based upon the OMB definition encompassing the following: American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, and Native Hawaiian. With the changes in DEI, we acknowledge that, though these are spotlighted businesses, we services all businesses in ned of structure and success initiatives 

2024 Updates to OMB

 The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Statistical Policy Directive No. 15 defines race and ethnicity as socio-political constructs, not biological or genetic, utilizing self-identification. Updated in 2024, standards require five minimum race categories (White, Black, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander) and two ethnicity categories (Hispanic/Latino or Not). [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key 2024–2026 OMB Definitions & Standards:

• Race vs. Ethnicity: OMB considers race and Hispanic origin as two separate and distinct concepts. People of Hispanic origin may be of any race.
• Race Categories (Minimum 5):
  • American Indian or Alaska Native: Origins in any of the original peoples of North, Central, and South America.
  • Asian: Origins in any of the original peoples of Central or East Asia, Southeast Asia, or South Asia.
  • Black or African American: Origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa.
  • Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander: Origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands.
  • White: Origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.
• Ethnicity Categories (Minimum 2):
  • Hispanic or Latino: A person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race.
  • Not Hispanic or Latino.
• Key Changes (2024 Update):
  • Combined Question: The new standards encourage a single, combined question for race and ethnicity to reduce the number of people who select "some other race".
  • Detailed Data: Agencies are encouraged to collect more detailed data (e.g., specific national origins like Nigerian or Mexican) to better capture diversity.
  • Elimination of Terms: The terms "majority" and "minority" are discouraged for use in tabulations. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

These standards are used for federal record-keeping, civil rights monitoring, and to assess disparities in health and education (census.gov)
